Ahmed Bencheikh is an Affiliate Professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

He is a former professor at : (i) Cadi Ayyad University (Marrakech), (ii) the University of Quebec in Montreal, (iii) the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (Rabat), and the National Institute of Planning and Urbanism (Rabat). Since 2012, Mr. Bencheikh has been an expert trainer in development policy evaluation at the Programme International de Formation en Evaluation de Développement (PIFED), (Quebec, Canada).

Ahmed Bencheikh holds a PhD in Land Use Planning from the University of Montreal, and three graduate degrees in Development Studies (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland), Urban Studies (Institut d’Urbanisme de Grenoble, France), and Political Science (Sciences Po) (Institut d’Études Politiques de Grenoble, France).

Ahmed Bencheikh is the founding president of the Moroccan Evaluation Association (2008), a founding member of the EvalMENA Network (2009), and a founding member of the Francophone Evaluation Network (2009). He is the recipient of the Hassan II Prize for the Environment in the field of scientific and technical research (2001), the African Evaluation Association Award (AfrEA, 2012), the EvalMENA Network Award for his contribution to the promotion of evaluation in the MENA region (2014) and the Francophone Evaluation Network Award (2021).
