Objectifs du cours / Course objectives
This course provides knowledge and techniques to statistical analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data. To provide a solid foundation in probability and statistics for economists. This unit will emphasize topics needed in the further study of econometrics and provide basic preparation for the econometric Unit. This unit will allow students to:
- Deepen their knowledge of statistics by assimilating statistical inference techniques and statistical tests to verify the reliability of the data and the obtained results;
- Learn how to use a statistical calculator and statistical software to do their own quantitative research. Emphasis on applying methods and interpreting results throughout;
- Perform hypothesis tests using statistical software;
- Comparison of data and estimates using statistical software,
- Conduct multi-variant statistical analyses, perform simple regressions and
- Classify statistical observations into homogeneous groups.
