The Rabat Campus of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is home to Faculty of Governance Economics and Social Sciences: a research-based entity with focus on analysis and public policy making and related challenges facing the African Continent. The perspective of the Global South stands at the heart of course offering at Faculty of Governance and Economics and Social Sciences. This allows future leaders to make well informed contributions to the development of the African continent.
The Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences is home to about 500 students and around 100 professors representing no fewer than 20 nationalities. It offers undergraduate and graduate as well as Ph D programs in four major disciplinary areas: Economics, Political science, Global affairs, and Behavioral & Social Sciences for public policy.
250 courses are taught at Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences, 50% of which are taught in English. Through such a wide course offer, Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences aims to provide viable and sustained answers to some of the most compelling issues of public policy. It mobilizes the most effective tools from fields as diverse as International Relations, Economics, Behavioral Science, Political sciences together with Law, Sociology, Psychology, History, and Philosophy.
There are two other entities that are part and parcel of the wider structure of Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences. First, The Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (Commonly Known as AIRESS) is a single entity that houses all research projects in economics and social sciences. Second, there is the Public Policy School which offers executive training programs for professionals.
Internationalization stands at the core of the identity the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences identity, with about 70 partner universities worldwide. Each year, the FGSES hosts new international students. In return, home students can spend a semester abroad on the exchange program.
Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences also has an elaborate language program for social sciences, with no fewer seven languages. The program is designed to international standards and contributes to the vibrancy of the institution with academic events in language and cultural studies.
The Rabat campus of Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences has a state-of the art infrastructure with cutting edge equipment and facilities fully adapted to teaching and research needs. There are over 30 hybrid connected rooms equipped with the latest Information and Communication technologies; all geared towards the smooth running of classes as well as academic events both in person and from distance.
Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences is endowed with a well-resourced library, state of the art accommodation, a university restaurant, open-air grounds, fitness rooms, a soccer field, basketball and tennis courts as well as an indoor-sports center.
